Golf Bags

Think for a second about what you see when you’re watching your favorite professional golfer out on the course, or when you, personally, are enjoying that sport. Quickly, your clubs will come to mind, your cleats, the tee… but wait. How do you get those clubs around the course? It’s your golf bag. Also, in this bag, you’ll find the tees that you sport around, and your markers. Simply put, it quite literally contains just about everything you’ll want, and have, when you’re on the golf course. If you choose the right bag, you may be more comfortable, well-rested, and perhaps even a more capable golfer. Moreover, who, among us sportsmen, golfers, and lovers of golf does not want that? I thought so.

Bags known as “tour bags” comprise the greatest and most significant amount of available golf bags. This bag, that is put to use by most golf professionals, offers you slots for your fourteen standard clubs for golfing, and offers space for other equipment that you might find necessary during a game of golf. This is important, as you cannot take your locker or house along with you on the course! It is just you, your playing partners, and your bag. Often high-priced, tour bags hold a lot, but this also contributes to a high price. Another source of this elevated price range is their construction, which usually consists of leather and other fine materials.

If you do not have the luxury of a caddy, however, or if you simply will be doing a lot of traveling while you golf, the “travel bag,” or “carry bag,” is a smaller option that you may choose. It is lighter partly because it is made of lighter materials than the leather tour bag that we spoke about previously, often consisting of nylon, plastic or other such light materials. Another reason that it is also easier to carry and more lightweight is that the bag will have slots for a smaller number of golf clubs, accessories, and balls. As a result, the bag is also simply smaller than the heavier bags.

An interesting mix of these two bags is also to be found in cart golf bags. Like travel bags, they are smaller than tour bags, but they are far more bulky than even tour bags, and as the name hints, are meant to be carried around on golf carts that zip and zoom around the course with ease.

The most important aspects to look at are your budget, how heavy a bag you would like to carry, and the type of equipment you like to have along. If you can’t help bring a lot of things along, get a bag with plenty of pockets, and if you don’t feel that need, think of just getting the easiest bag for you to carry. A golf bag isn’t absolutely a deal-breaker of your golf game, but it’s nice to have one you enjoy.
